Freelancer to Proprietor to Businessman

The thought of asking a boss for a leave, applying to enjoy some days out of your own life seemed absurd to me. So, after working for MTV, I started freelancing in my early 20s. I thought if does not work out, a job is the easiest thing to land. But incredible good luck and a great network ensured freelancing took off. The salary account at MTV came with a current account and going from freelancer to proprietor was seamless. The proprietor did really well. But being at peace isn't exactly on my CV. So, I had been thinking, 'How do I go from being a freelancer doing  gigs to a small company doing a business?'

Making a Sane Difference

In 2022, I got a call from Tourism Bhutan asking if I could write content. It's one of those calls you do not say no to. I had a bunch of writers I had trained on Storysurf. I knew the market needed writers. So, I started Sane Difference as a simple Writer's Bureau. And Tourism Bhutan, became our first client. (Nobody got to travel to Bhutan).

What started as a writer's bureau, soon turned into a branding studio. And we started getting more work than we ever imagined. Today, after a couple of years, we build brands, develop websites, design merchandise amongst many other things. You can see its work here
